The digital twin – a digital image of reality. However, the mere documentation of buildings, infrastructures and areas does not create added value. The digital twin makes it possible to connect a wide variety of topics, to identify problems and to derive solution-oriented innovations from them.

For example, the linking of energetic buildings with sensor technology will determine our future: buildings that are not only energy-efficient and resource-saving, but are also equipped with intelligent sensor systems that enable precise control and monitoring with the help of the Digital Twin. These systems will enable buildings to react in real time to changing environmental conditions and optimise energy consumption. From smart heating and cooling systems to automated lighting and ventilation solutions, buildings will become central to a sustainable future. The future of building sensors and technology will not only help reduce energy consumption, but also enhance occupant comfort and safety. We are on the threshold of an exciting new era in building technology and energy efficiency that will enable us to shape a more sustainable future.

Stefan Feldmann studeerde eerst Elektrotechniek aan de Ruhruniversiteit in Bochum en begon daarna bij LIT. Daarna stapte hij over naar EPlus Mobilfunk Berlin als Head of Planning. In 1997 waagde hij de stap als zelfstandige bij Citycom Münster en van 1999-2004 nam hij de leiding over van een dochteronderneming van Siemens. Tegenwoordig is zijn eigen onderneming, de STF Group, actief op het gebied van telecommunicatie, digitalisering, technische planning van gebouwen en energie-efficiëntie en heeft meer dan 500 medewerkers op 19 locaties in het hele land. Onlangs werd bovendien STF Swiss AG in Zwitserland, alsook STF Austria en Field.fx GmbH opgericht. Toekomstige trends en technologieën motiveren Feldmann om steeds weer nieuwe bedrijfsmodellen te ontwikkelen en zo de digitale transformatie duurzaam voort te stuwen.
