The panel titled 'The State of Startup Support in Germany and the Netherlands' will examine the challenges and current landscape of startup support in these two dynamic economies, particularly in light of the recent economic downturn. Germany and the Netherlands have also faced these difficulties. The panelists will discuss how the recent downturn has impacted startup viability, investment acquisition, and market stability.
We will also discuss the potential benefits of market pressures causing the failure of non-sustainable business models. This conversation will explore how such a market correction can promote a more resilient and innovative startup ecosystem. Our discussion will center around the question: 'Which startups require more support, and which do not?' This will lead to a debate on the criteria and rationale for allocating resources and support to different types of startups. Factors to consider include innovation, sustainability, as well as economic and societal impact.
Short CV:
Dr. Sebastian Köffer works as a managing director at the Digital Hub münsterLAND and promotes the networking of established companies with startups to promote the digital transformation in the Münsterland. Before that, he did his doctorate at the European Research Center for Information Systems at the WWU Münster and worked as a consultant for Business Intelligence systems. Sebastian is the organizer of numerous startup events, including the ERCIS Launch Pad and the NRW Hub Battle. He holds a diploma in Business Information Systems from University of Paderborn.
