Generative AI in mechanical engineering: reducing fears and creating added value

The digitalisation of the value chain is both an opportunity and a challenge for many manufacturing companies. On the one hand, new approaches and technologies such as the digital twin, industrial IoT or generative AI can optimise and improve business processes. On the other hand, new demands on data management and employees, as well as the risk of bad investments, dampen the willingness to introduce future-oriented innovation. In this presentation, we set impulses on how new technologies such as Generative AI can be incrementally integrated into the system landscape of mechanical engineering companies, how possible risks can be minimised and how digital business models can be developed.

As a Senior Developer at XITASO GmbH, Leonard Fisser develops customised software solutions for customers in the mechanical engineering sector and provides consulting support in research and innovation projects. In addition to his previous activities as a systems engineer in shipbuilding and research assistant at the Technical University of Hamburg, Leonard Fisser is currently in the final stages of his doctoral studies in the field of information and communication technology.
