The digital twin – a digital image of reality. However, the mere documentation of buildings, infrastructures and areas does not create added value. The digital twin makes it possible to connect a wide variety of topics, to identify problems and to derive solution-oriented innovations from them.

For example, the linking of energetic buildings with sensor technology will determine our future: buildings that are not only energy-efficient and resource-saving, but are also equipped with intelligent sensor systems that enable precise control and monitoring with the help of the Digital Twin. These systems will enable buildings to react in real time to changing environmental conditions and optimise energy consumption. From smart heating and cooling systems to automated lighting and ventilation solutions, buildings will become central to a sustainable future. The future of building sensors and technology will not only help reduce energy consumption, but also enhance occupant comfort and safety. We are on the threshold of an exciting new era in building technology and energy efficiency that will enable us to shape a more sustainable future.

Stefan Feldmann first studied electrical engineering at the Ruhr University in Bochum and then started at LIT. He then moved to EPlus Mobilfunk Berlin as Head of Planning. In 1997, he ventured into self-employment with the change to Citycom Münster and took over the management of a Siemens subsidiary from 1999-2004. Today, his own company, the STF Group, is active in the fields of telecommunications, digitalisation, technical building services planning and energy efficiency and has over 500 employees at 19 locations nationwide. STF Swiss AG was also recently founded in Switzerland, as were STF Austria and Field.fx GmbH. Future trends and technologies motivate Feldmann to continually develop new business models and thus sustainably drive forward the digital transformation.
