Generalkonsul der Niederlande
Peter Schuurman began his diplomatic career in 1996 at the Dutch Foreign Office.
After various posts in The Hague as well as in Paris at the Dutch Embassy, he has been Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Düsseldorf since August 2019.
His official territory included the federal states of Bremen, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Saarland.
The main topics of his activities at the Consulate General are: Economic Diplomacy, Mobility/Infrastructure, Security, Education and Culture. Special attention is given to cross-border cooperation, in which he plays a central role between The Hague, Berlin and the border regions.
