Companies are exposed to a growing risk of cyber-attacks. Data theft or encryption, ransomware attacks and the paralysis of entire production processes not only affect large companies – cyber-criminals are also increasingly targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Digital attacks can have a serious impact on a company, including loss of reputation, legal violations and considerable financial loss. Cyber-security is therefore becoming increasingly important as companies try to create resilient environments to protect themselves against cyber-attacks.
In this presentation, Prof. Angela Sasse from the Ruhr University Bochum and Matteo Große-Kampmann will introduce the key pillars of cyber-resilient IT infrastructure. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Carsten Bieker (zubIT) and Markus Hertlein (XignSys), where Sasse and Große-Kampmann will explain why the focus should not only be on the technical components, but above all on the human factor.
