Dr Lars Friedrich


Commerzbank was founded over 150 years ago to support corporate client business. In particular, the economic structure of globally operating medium-sized companies which is so specific to Germany has shaped Commerzbank to this day. Innovation drivers such as IT services, distributed ledgers and machine learning are fundamentally changing corporate client business. Three examples from these areas provide an insight into the change and invite to take part in the discussion about the future.
Lars Friedrich began his professional career in 1998 at Accenture in the field of Strategic Management for financial service providers. With the birth of his first daughter, he switched to the customer side and was in charge of Corporate Development at SEB Bank in Germany from 2006 to 2008. He has been with Commerzbank since 2008. First, as the responsible Program Manager for the integration of securities processing at Dresdner Bank, then as Head of Customer excellence for the group-wide quality program. From 2014 to 2018 he was responsible for the management of the group strategy. He was then responsible for the Group’s digital strategy and architecture until the end of 2020. The graduate in economics has been responsible for Commerzbank’s securities and brokerage business since the beginning of 2021.
Lars Friedrich was born in 1971 and has two daughters.
