Dr Bruno Jacobfeuerborn
5G is the new communication standard. It lays the foundations for new customer experiences, such as augmented reality, the networking of industrial machines and the Internet of Things with millions of intelligent devices. The technology is also helping to digitise many areas of our everyday lives. The wireless networking of production facilities makes 5G a key aspect of Industry 4.0. If we look at campus networks, for example, machines can be serviced remotely and changes to the production process can be made online. But how is 5G shaping up and what specific opportunities are emerging for industry and SMEs?
Bruno Jacobfeuerborn has been the CEO of DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH since 2017, as well as the CEO of Comfort Charge GmbH and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at 1NCE GmbH since 2018. He had previously served as a member of the supervisory board at T-Mobile US and had been the Head of Technology at Telekom Deutschland and the Chief Technology Officer at Deutsche Telekom. In the early 2000s, he was a member of the management team at Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa and T-Mobile Netherlands. Bruno Jacobfeuerborn joined the company now known as Deutsche Telekom in 1989.
